Walking the Long Road Together

We walk with young men as they leave HMP/YOI Feltham, offering steady, relational support through the challenges of release. Our approach is practical, persistent, and centred on each young person’s goals.

How FCCT responds

  • Persistent, relational support that stays for the long road

  • Through‑the‑gate continuity, beginning in custody and continuing into community

  • Practical help with housing, safety, education, work, wellbeing and relationships

  • Opportunities and encouragement that build confidence and purpose

  • Faith‑informed, inclusive care for young people of all faiths or none

Our long‑road mentoring model

  • Support begins in custody and continues after release

  • Young people are matched with a resettlement worker and a volunteer mentor

  • Relationships are consistent, non‑judgemental, and built on trust

  • Support is not time‑limited — you stay even when things get difficult

This is where you differentiate yourselves from short‑term interventions.

What support looks like in practice

  • Housing and stability — helping young people find safe accommodation

  • Safety and wellbeing — navigating risks, building routines, accessing support

  • Education and work — CVs, training, job applications, confidence building

  • Relationships and community — reconnecting with family, building positive networks

  • Purpose and direction — setting goals, celebrating progress, building hope
